My intuition is extremely strong; this round of rampant altcoin season is about to hit!
For the altcoin season to happen, it definitely requires a large influx of out-of-circle funds. Just look at my friends around me; many of them in secondary institutions are already aware and jumped into ETH stocks early. Now, they are starting to invest in altcoins in advance. Once ETH truly rises and the market sentiment heats up to a FOMO state, there will definitely be more traditional secondary market incremental funds coming in. In my view, liquidity overflow is a done deal.
In fact, there are many quality assets in the crypto space, and there are plenty of cash cows. If these were placed in the US stock market, they would be valued at a premium of 5 to 10 times. This round, these quality assets are likely to be introduced into the US stock market in the form of crypto stocks to scoop up some liquidity.
We have already gone through three cycles, and every time everyone thinks, "This time is different, BTC has value," but then the altcoin season suddenly starts. Each round, BTC's market share rises back to about 70%, and then within six months, when the altcoin season arrives, it drops BTC's market share back down to 40%. In previous bottoms, the voices saying altcoins are useless were even louder than now.
If you are considering switching to altcoins, choose those that: 1. Have at least gone through one round of cycle washing; 2. Are cash cows and still growing; 3. Are altcoins for products that you understand and would use yourself.
BTC's market share has been rising for 4 years; it just reversed two months ago, dropping from 65% to 58%, most of which was eaten up by ETH's gains. This wave of altcoin season hasn't even officially started yet. At the peak of this bull market, I still see BTC's market share hitting 40%.
