Data reveals the night before the surge, seizing the last wealth opportunity
Altcoin season refers to a period when altcoins experience significant price increases, outperforming mainstream cryptocurrencies. According to Coinbase's latest monthly outlook, the altcoin season may fully arrive in September 2025.
Coinbase points out that Bitcoin's market share has dropped from 65% to 59%, indicating early signs of capital rotating towards altcoins. Additionally, as the Federal Reserve plans to implement interest rate cuts in September and October, over $7 trillion of retail funds may flow from money market funds to high-risk assets like cryptocurrencies, providing liquidity support for the start of the altcoin season. Its cryptocurrency liquidity-weighted Z-score metric shows that liquidity has begun to recover in recent weeks, and the growth of stablecoins is also supported by a clearer regulatory environment, all of which favor the onset of the altcoin season.
However, the market is unpredictable; even with the favorable conditions mentioned above, it cannot be absolutely determined that the altcoin season will occur in September.
