U.S. government acquires 10% stake in Intel for $8.9 billion
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on August 23, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced that the U.S. now holds 10% of Intel's shares. This agreement will consolidate the U.S.'s leading position in the semiconductor field.
Intel announced that the U.S. government purchased 433.3 million shares of common stock at $20.47 per share, with a total investment of approximately $8.9 billion. Intel's stock price closed up 5.53%, currently at $24.8.
Previously, Trump indicated that he was considering acquiring a 10% stake in Intel through a deal, and more similar transactions would be reached.
