Trump stated that there was huge hatred between the two parties, and he would judge in two weeks if it was possible to make progress in promoting peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, and would decide whether to implement "massive sanctions" or do nothing and consider the war as "a fight between the two parties." Trump and Putin met on August 15 in Anchorage, the largest city in the U.S. state of Alaska. Then, on the afternoon of the 18th, Trump met Zelensky at the White House, before holding multilateral talks with Zelensky and many European, EU, and NATO leaders who had arrived in a "group." On the 21st, Trump stated regarding the issue between Russia and Ukraine that he would know "about two weeks after" the outcome.
