IRS official Trish Turner resigns to become cryptocurrency tax director
According to news from Hash World and a report by The Block, IRS official Trish Turner has announced her resignation from the position responsible for the agency's cryptocurrency division. She posted on LinkedIn that she will join cryptocurrency tax company Crypto Tax Girl (CTG) as the tax director. Turner's departure comes at a time when cryptocurrency tax policies are being adjusted. Starting January 2026, cryptocurrency brokers will be required to report the total proceeds and cost basis of digital sales on a new 1099-DA form to more accurately track cryptocurrency transactions. Previously, two other leaders, Sulolit "Raj" Mukherjee and Seth Wilks, had already resigned in May.
