🍃【Good Practice】Mind Cultivation Continues
The pain and troubles in life mostly stem from an excessive attachment to the "self." If we can let go of the obsession with "I," then pain loses its foundation of attachment—without "I," where does suffering come from? People often center their lives around "I," worrying about "my feelings" and "my gains and losses," but seldom question: "What is 'I' really?"
In fact, "I" is not limited to the body, thoughts, or consciousness. When you slowly realize that "I am nothing, yet infinitely full," you will find that what we call suffering is merely an illusion created by our thoughts. We often get trapped in the perception of the "petty self," swept away by gains and losses, evaluations, and desires, forgetting that we inherently possess an inner strength that transcends limitations.
The so-called "no-self" does not deny existence but breaks the rigid understanding of the "self." When we no longer cling to "my feelings" or "my standards," the ups and downs of the external world become less able to disturb our hearts. Those people and things that cause you pain are essentially illusions created by thoughts; seeing through this, you will not be deeply trapped in gains and losses.
Frequently remind yourself: who is it that causes you pain? It is that "illusory self" defined by thoughts. Let go of the obsession with "I," see through the illusions of thoughts, and you will discover that your heart is inherently clear and at ease, like moonlight penetrating the clouds, gaining ease and tranquility in non-attachment.
