Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), delivered a speech this Friday (22) against authoritarianism, warning that the Judiciary will not treat those who attacked democracy with "impunity, omission, and cowardice."
"Brazil, unfortunately, has a history of coup attempts, and for 37 years there has been a Democratic Rule of Law and institutional stability. Not tranquility, but important instruments to ensure this normalcy," said Moraes at a forum of the Lide group in Rio de Janeiro.
The markets reacted with the dollar ending the week with a strong drop, the stock market rising more than 2%, and $BTC rising and pulling other cryptocurrencies.
