Bitlayer’s Roadmap – From V1 to What’s Next

Every blockchain project talks about vision, but Bitlayer has something many lack: a clear and executed roadmap. Looking back, V1 laid the foundation with core architecture and the first testnet launches. It was about proving that the BitVM rollup model could work in practice.

Then came V2, introduced at the Summer Launch. It focused on efficiency, validator improvements, and scaling transaction throughput. The whitepaper gave a transparent view of what had been achieved and what was in progress, showing the team’s discipline in balancing innovation with execution.

Now, all eyes are on V3. While details are still emerging, the vision is bold: deeper decentralization, smoother cross-chain liquidity flows, and ecosystem tools that empower developers even more. V3 is where Bitlayer moves from being primarily infrastructure to being a fully-fledged Bitcoin execution hub.

The roadmap tells a story of consistent progress. No hype cycles, no shortcuts — just steady building and delivery. That’s rare in crypto, where many projects overpromise and underdeliver. Bitlayer, on the other hand, has quietly been checking milestones off its list.

If V1 was about proof, and V2 about scaling, then V3 will be about expansion — the phase where Bitcoin truly becomes the programmable backbone of Web3.
