Interpol cracks down on large-scale cryptocurrency crimes in Africa, over 1,200 arrested

According to reports, Interpol has launched a large-scale operation 'Serengeti 2.0', successfully cracking down on numerous cryptocurrency-related criminal cases, leading to the arrest of 1,209 suspects, with nearly 88,000 victims involved, and recovering $97.4 million in funds. During the operation, Zambian police dismantled a major cryptocurrency investment fraud gang that lured investors through advertisements, with total fraud amounting to $300 million. Meanwhile, Angolan police shut down 25 illegal cryptocurrency mining centers, arresting 60 Chinese nationals involved and seizing mining and IT equipment worth $37 million. This operation involved 18 African countries and the UK, and has been in effect since June of this year.
