PANews, August 22 news, according to Interpol, the joint operation codenamed 'Serengeti 2.0' has cracked a series of cryptocurrency-related criminal cases, resulting in the arrest of 1,209 suspects, involving nearly 88,000 victims, and recovering funds amounting to 97.4 million dollars.

During the operation, Zambian authorities dismantled a large cryptocurrency investment scam group that lured investors through advertisements, with a total fraud amount reaching 300 million dollars. In addition, Angolan police seized 25 illegal cryptocurrency mining centers, arrested 60 Chinese nationals, and confiscated mining and IT equipment worth 37 million dollars. This operation has been jointly carried out by 18 African countries and the United Kingdom, continuing since June of this year.
