ChainCatcher news, according to The Wall Street Journal, U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Michael Folkenflik will leave the government less than five months after being confirmed by the Senate.

Folkenflik was responsible for the daily operations of the Treasury Department and briefly served as acting director during a tumultuous period in the IRS leadership. He is also the second Senate-confirmed Treasury official to leave this month, following former IRS Commissioner Billy Long, who departed earlier.

During his tenure, Folkenflik was involved in shaping the tax policies in the tax and spending bill signed by Trump.
