PANews reported on August 22 that, according to South Korean media, the Seoul Central District Court partially ruled in favor of former employees of Wemade in a damages lawsuit, ordering Wemade to compensate approximately 9.939 billion won. This lawsuit was filed by 27 former employees in July of last year, claiming a total of 16.176 billion won, accusing the company of failing to fulfill its promise to pay employees in virtual currency WEMIX.

Wemade established its blockchain subsidiary, Wemade Tree, in 2018 and merged it in 2022. Currently, the relevant functions are assumed by the WEMIX Foundation.
