🔗 The Ethereum layer two network Starknet will add Bitcoin staking to its ecosystem as part of SNIP-31. The initiative was supported by 93.6% of the voting participants.

According to the parameters, the weight of BTC staking power is set at 0.25, granting it up to 25% influence on the overall consensus. For the native token of the protocol, STRK, this figure is 0.75.

The network will support "wrapped" versions of digital gold — WBTC, LBTC, tBTC, and SolvBTC. The list may be expanded in the future.
