WCT assists Huawei HarmonyOS Smart Connection in device interconnection and service traceability
In 2024, Huawei will integrate WCT technology into the HarmonyOS Smart Connection ecosystem to address the interconnectivity and service traceability issues of smart home devices across brands. Huawei smartphones, smart screens, and third-party brand smart lighting, humidifiers, and other devices will achieve real-time data sharing through the WCT protocol (e.g., controlling the brightness of lights with a smartphone, displaying device status on screens); when users purchase value-added services for devices (e.g., remote diagnostics, firmware upgrades), service records will be bound to the device SN code and put on the blockchain, allowing for anytime access to service progress and history. By the end of 2024, after integrating WCT into the HarmonyOS Smart Connection platform, device compatibility will be enhanced to 99.5%, service dispute rates will decrease by 68%, the number of third-party device manufacturers will increase by 50%, covering over 80 million user households.
