A Bitcoin investor lost 783 BTC (approximately 91 million USD) due to a social engineering scam. The fraudster impersonated a support staff member from a wallet and exchange company to gain access. The stolen BTC was then transferred through Wasabi Wallet. This is not the first time; a similar incident occurred previously where 4,064 BTC was lost. The FBI warns that forms such as impersonating employees, call forwarding, phishing, and SIM swapping are becoming common. Even job seekers are targets, with fake crypto companies aiming to install malware.
