Wu said that on-chain detective Zach posted that if he had charged market-standard fees for the 150+ investigation cases he has publicly released since 2021, with each case conservatively estimated at $5,000 to $10,000, he could have earned about $750,000 to $1.5 million. However, in reality, most cases exceeded 10 hours of work, and some successful investigations directly recovered over $300 million in funds. If calculated at the common 10% success fee, the actual potential value could reach $10 million to $15 million. He admitted that in the past, due to a lack of contracts or incentive mechanisms, he missed out on substantial earnings. Now, having been taken advantage of multiple times, he will no longer accept requests for unpaid investigations, and his future work will insist on reasonable compensation.
