Winklevoss donate $21 million in Bitcoin to support Trump and crypto agenda
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, co-founders of the Gemini exchange, announced that they had donated more than 188 Bitcoin (worth around $21 million) to the Digital Freedom Fund PAC to support President Donald Trump in advancing pro-crypto policies with a Republican majority in Congress.
The contribution is aimed at influencing the 2026 midterm elections, promoting digital asset market structure legislation, and pushing for a de minimis tax exemption for small-scale Bitcoin and crypto transactions.
Previously, the twins donated $2 million in Bitcoin to Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and $5 million to the Fairshake PAC, which spent over $130 million backing “pro-crypto” candidates during the last election cycle.
This latest move further deepens the financial ties between the Trump family and the Winklevoss brothers, coming as the White House signed into law the bipartisan-supported GENIUS Act on stablecoins.
