A solo miner wins the lottery and receives a major Bitcoin prize: a chance of one in 650,000…
Last Sunday, a solo miner managed to find a Bitcoin block alone, earning a reward of 3.137 BTC (approximately $350,000). According to experts, the odds of this happening are less than one in 650,000.
The miner used the Solo CK Pool service, a private platform for solo mining, achieving one of the most notable solo successes this year.
🔹 Earlier this year, other solo miners managed to achieve a similar feat:
February 11, 2025
July 4, 2025
July 27, 2025
📉 In the early days of Bitcoin, the number of individual miners was large, but with increasing mining difficulty and the entry of large companies, the chances for individuals became almost impossible. However, there are still those who get lucky sometimes.
🗣️ Samuel Lee, the CTO of mining hardware company ASICKey, states:
> "Solo mining today is more like a game of chance. The probability that a user with an average hash rate can find a block in 10 minutes is less than one in 650,000."
🔻 It is worth noting that the last halving of the Bitcoin reward occurred in April 2024, where the reward dropped from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC per block.
