As a Web3 developer, my feelings towards WalletConnect are complex. Initially, it was a great tool that solved the major problem of wallet connections. However, with the closure of V1 and the upgrade to V2, we also face migration challenges. Nevertheless, in the long run, the new features brought by V2, such as multi-chain support and the decentralized relay network, undoubtedly provide us with greater opportunities.

The upgrade of WalletConnect V2 is like providing developers with a brand new, more powerful toolbox. Multi-chain support frees us from being limited to a single ecosystem, allowing us to easily build cross-chain applications. The decentralized relay network enhances the stability and security of connections, which is crucial for building financial applications. Although the migration process requires some learning costs, the convenience and scalability brought by these new features are irreplaceable.

More importantly, WalletConnect is transitioning from a protocol provider to a platform service provider. Through products like WalletConnect Cloud, they provide developers with a more complete solution, from API key management to SDK integration, everything is covered. This allows developers to work more efficiently and focus on product innovation. It can be said that WalletConnect is becoming the standard for Web3 developers and is an indispensable partner for anyone aspiring to build decentralized applications.
