Doggy DAO presents flexible voting models to limit the influence of whales.

According to a post on the Shiba Inu community website, this represents a shift from the previous system, which relied almost exclusively on staking mechanisms. The measure aims to empower small token holders and limit the control of whales.

The first addition is quadratic voting, which considerably raises the cost of purchasing dominant influence in a verdict. The cost of additional votes increases exponentially. Therefore, the wealthy cannot easily outnumber the rest of the community members during voting. This is a safeguard designed to counteract the maneuvers of SHIB whales that could otherwise alter market results and governance.

Voting based on ERC-20 wallets has also been added. This option allows participants to vote directly with their token balance without the obligation to stake. It is expected to facilitate participation by removing obstacles for those who do not wish to lock their assets.

Staking-based voting, in its original format, remains. Proposal creators can now select the most suitable model for their governance elements.

The engineering manager of Shiba Inu, 'ShadowHunter', explained in the blog entry that this flexibility ensures that governance proposals reflect the unique nature of the decisions being made. Certain proposals may be more effective with staking, while others may require direct participation in tokens or a quadratic limit to achieve more equitable representation.

The DAO also noted that a voting model based on identity is being developed. This would allow one vote per person. This would represent a further step towards fairness in decision-making throughout the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The implementation of the system could significantly affect the balance of power, especially with the growth of Shibarium.

This governance update aligns Shiba Inu with the exploration of partial decision-making systems in Web3. This reinforces the security enhancements of Shibarium and token burning initiatives. Most decentralized systems are looking to balance communities. These modifications will be crucial for the Shiba Inu ecosystem in its effort to achieve future upgrades and make other strategic decisions.

This development highlights the fact that blockchain-based communities are continuously exploring solutions that offer a balance between fairness, inclusion, and security.
