According to a report by Golden Finance, on the 17th, Upbit operator Dunamu announced that, following a tax investigation by the Seoul Regional Tax Office, the company has been assessed a tax arrears of 22.635 billion Korean won, including corporate tax. The Seoul Regional Tax Office's International Transaction Investigation Bureau conducted a tax investigation on Dunamu in February of this year. The announcement stated that the National Tax Service notified the assessment on June 30, and Dunamu has already paid this tax. This tax arrears of 22.635 billion Korean won accounts for about 23% of Dunamu's net profit for the second quarter (approximately 97.6 billion Korean won). Additionally, Dunamu is involved in a lawsuit with financial regulatory authorities. The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) had notified Dunamu in February of a penalty of 'suspension of part of its business for 3 months' and issued an 'accountability warning' to the company's CEO Lee Seok-woo, as well as dismissing the compliance officer and 8 other employees.
