PANews, August 17th news, according to China News Network, after China strictly prohibited virtual currency trading in 2021, the preservation and disposal of virtual currencies involved in cases has become a thorny issue encountered by public security in various regions. Recently, reporters followed the Ministry of Public Security's media interview group for the 'Guardians Under the Sun' legal publicity campaign into the co-management center for case-related property in Duyun City, Qiannan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, to understand the local public security practices for preserving virtual currencies involved in cases. During the case handling process, public security agencies found that some suspects converted their illegal gains into virtual currencies. Duyun Public Security froze the involved virtual currencies during the seizure process, confiscated them into a cold wallet set up by the public security agency for physical isolation, and stored them in the co-management center for case-related property in Duyun City, awaiting court judgment. The exploration of Duyun Public Security has provided a 'solution framework' for the preservation of virtual currencies involved in cases, and various regions are still searching for better solutions. It is reported that Duyun Public Security is focused on the difficulties of preserving, transferring, and disposing of case-related property, actively exploring the reform of case-related property management, and promoting the construction of a cross-departmental co-management center for case-related property. Since its establishment and operation in November 2022, the center has received 24,753 pieces of case-related items, over 20.495 million yuan in case-related funds, and centralized storage of over 7,000 various case files.
