According to Foresight News, Thailand is set to launch the "Tourist Digital Payment" (TouristDigiPay) initiative next Monday, allowing foreign tourists to exchange cryptocurrencies for Thai Baht, in order to boost the tourism sector. This will be announced at a press conference held by the Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Pritchai Choonhavan, in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Anti-Money Laundering Office, and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

This initiative comes after the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission completed a public consultation on the use of digital assets to support economic and tourism growth. The feedback period for this consultation ended on August 13.
