Successful traders are content with solitude.

Almost all successful investors are loners; they must be loners.

Because they want to do things differently from the crowd, skilled traders never rush in; they often dare to buy at the horizontal position of the trend or decisively close positions, because they know that the direction after the consolidation is mostly in line with the original direction. Trends cannot move continuously.

Whether buying low and selling high or buying high and selling even higher, they must maintain independent thinking. Doing the opposite of the crowd in order to be different is extremely dangerous.

They must have reasonable explanations for why the crowd may be wrong, while anticipating the consequences of adopting contrary thinking, which gives them the confidence needed to be different from the crowd. If you go with the flow, you will often enter the market at highs and exit at lows, ultimately becoming a loser.
