Recently, there’s been something quite interesting. After resigning as the Executive Director of the White House Cryptocurrency Council, Bo Hines suddenly became highly sought after. He just left last week, and this week he received over 50 job offers, which left me quite stunned. I heard he’s now seriously considering five of those opportunities, all of which are in the cryptocurrency space.
During an interview, this guy was quite candid, clearly stating that he has no intention of returning to politics. It seems he’s determined to root himself in the crypto sphere. It makes sense when you think about it; after all, although the cryptocurrency market has seen significant volatility in the past two years, there are still plenty of opportunities. Talented individuals like him, who understand both policy and the industry, are indeed in high demand.
I pondered over this and realized it illustrates at least two points: first, the cryptocurrency industry really isn’t lacking in funds if they’re willing to spend so much to poach talent; second, the community places a high value on individuals with government backgrounds. Hines’ experience is practically tailor-made for this industry, which explains why so many companies are eager to hire him.
However, what surprised me the most is that he hasn’t considered returning to politics at all. In the past, young people coming out of government often saw a political career as a fallback option. But now, he’s diving headfirst into Web3. It seems that the world of cryptocurrency is much deeper than we imagined.
