Can ronin be converted to Ethereum's Layer2?

ChainCatcher news, the game blockchain Ronin tweeted that it plans to transition to Ethereum L2 in the second quarter of 2026. The transition may occur in phases during the first and second quarters, and it may be completed before the second quarter. The official statement indicates that in the future, Ronin will offer applications beyond gaming, transaction speeds will increase by 12 times, and RON staking rewards will be distributed to managing validators and contributors through a new Proof of Distribution model.
