Many online users are claiming the cartoon was published by international news outlets. 📲 One Instagram user posted it on August 7, 2025, stating, “This cartoon was published in an American newspaper…” 📰 Meanwhile, a Facebook post from Indori Bhiya suggests the image was shared by a Chinese account in support of India. 🇨🇳🤝🇮🇳

🔍 Fact-Check:

To verify the cartoon’s authenticity, we did a reverse image search, which led us to Bruce MacKinnon, an editorial cartoonist for the Halifax Chronicle Herald. His original cartoon from February 3, 2025, features a red maple leaf on the fan, symbolizing Canada, not India. 🍁❌🇮🇳

The manipulated version of the cartoon digitally swapped the Canadian flag with the Indian tricolor. 🖼️🖥️
