U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Alaska on August 15 to discuss key issues between their countries, according to the Kremlin.
The meeting will begin at 11:30 AM local time (22:30 Moscow time) with a private conversation between the leaders, attended only by interpreters.
After that, they will hold an expanded meeting with their teams and have a working breakfast. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov stated that they will discuss the war in Ukraine and ways to improve trade and economic relations. He added that the meeting may last longer depending on the course of the discussions.
In conclusion, Trump and Putin will speak to the press together. This is their first in-person meeting since the United States imposed a 145% tariff on Chinese goods in April, coming at a time when both sides are seeking a ceasefire in Ukraine.
