The number of initial jobless claims in the United States has decreased, while recruitment remains weak
As of the week ending August 9, the number of initial jobless claims decreased by 3,000 to 224,000, with a low level of layoffs. However, the average monthly job creation over the past three months is only 350,000, indicating weak recruitment. Analysts believe that although the initial claims data is strong, the overall labor market shows a trend of divergence, which may push the unemployment rate in August up to 43%.
