🇺🇸🇷🇺 U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Alaska on 15 August to talk about major issues between their countries, according to the Kremlin.
The meeting will start at 11:30 a.m. local time (22:30 in Moscow) with a private talk between the two leaders, joined only by interpre#ters.
After that, they’ll have a larger meeting with their teams and a working breakfast. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said they’ll discuss the war in Ukraine and ways to improve trade and economic ties. He also said the meeting could last longer depending on how the talks go.
At the end, Trump and Putin will speak to the press together. This is their first in-person meeting since the U.S. placed a 145% tariff on Chinese goods in April, and it comes as both sides push for a cease-fire in Ukraine.
