Tomorrow (August 15) a vast number of contracts for Bitcoin and Ethereum will expire (over $6.2 billion in total). This is called option expiration.
When this happens:
• Prices often "fluctuate" — the market becomes nervous.
• There is a concept called Max Pain — the level where option holders are least profitable, and large players sometimes try to "pull" the price there.
• For Bitcoin, this is approximately $118,000.
• For Ethereum, this is approximately $3,950.
What is happening now:
• $BTC is currently approximately $121,500 — slightly above this "pain zone".
• $ETH is approximately $4,750 — significantly above its "pain zone".
What this means:
• Sharp movements are possible tomorrow, especially in the morning in Kyiv (around 11:00 AM).
• For Bitcoin, there may be a pullback towards $118K, for Ethereum — the chance is less likely, but movements will still occur.
