The European officials present at the meeting and two sources stated that a consensus was reached - peace negotiations could only be initiated after a ceasefire was achieved. Some European leaders perceived from the call that Trump had cautious expectations regarding the outcomes of this meeting. However, five informed individuals emphasized that all leaders adhered to two fundamental principles: Ukraine must participate in all stages of the negotiations, and the decision on territorial concessions belongs exclusively to Ukraine. They revealed that the allies agreed that if Putin refused the ceasefire, Trump could impose new sanctions against Russia.
