MetaMask may announce details of stablecoin mUSD this week
According to reports from insiders, MetaMask may announce details about its USD-pegged stablecoin mUSD as early as this week. Previously, mUSD was disclosed in a governance proposal that was quickly retracted last week. MetaMask currently states that it has over 30 million monthly active users and is advancing the issuance of the stablecoin with the assistance of Bridge. Bridge is a company that helps integrate stablecoin payment channels and was acquired earlier this year by fintech company Stripe, focusing on supporting businesses in stablecoin payment and issuance collaboration. Insiders also noted that MetaMask, in addition to working closely with Bridge, is seeking support from traditional financial asset management firm BlackRock to provide custody and fund management services for its tokens.
