"Trump is preparing a deal with Russia behind Ukraine's back" - The Economist

European leaders are in a panic: the Trump administration is discussing an agreement with the Kremlin that could include territorial concessions for Ukraine. According to the publication, the negotiations have already gone beyond recognizing the occupied territories - now they are discussing the transfer of new lands to Russia.

The key lobbyist for the deal was Trump's business partner Witkoff, whose participation, according to sources, "systematically harms Ukrainian interests."

Kyiv is categorically against it: "First a ceasefire, then negotiations. Any territorial concessions before that are treason," the Ukrainian administration said. However, the White House insists on "flexibility," which in translation means a willingness to sacrifice part of Ukrainian territory.

Experts warn: such a deal will destroy the European security system and open a "Pandora's box" for new territorial claims by Russia.
