Glassnode tweeted that the open interest in ETH futures has reached a historical high of approximately 35.5 billion USD. Leverage levels across trading platforms have been reaccumulated, and as positions become further concentrated, the market may face greater volatility in the future. On August 12, approximately 66 million USD worth of ETH shorts were liquidated, marking the second largest short liquidation event of the year so far.
