In 2018, the total amount of OKB announced during its issuance was 1 billion, with an initial issuance of 300 million.

On February 10, 2020, OKX (then known as OKEx) announced the launch of the OKChain testnet and destroyed 700 million uncirculated OKB. At the time of the OKChain testnet launch, 13,978,364 OKB had been destroyed, with a circulating supply of 286,021,636. On that day, OKB rose by 36.5%, reaching a high of $7.4 within 6 days, totaling an increase of approximately 90%.

Since May 4, 2019, OKB has been destroyed a total of 28 times, with a cumulative destruction of 213,743,286.

Today, OKX announced that it will destroy 65.25 million OKB from historical buybacks and reserves in one go on August 15, fixing the total issuance at 21 million, which is indeed very impressive compared to Bitcoin's total supply.
