OKX launches X Layer upgrade plan: Focus on DeFi and payments



Dear X Layer community members, ecological partners, and users: Since the launch of the zkEVM-based public chain X Layer in collaboration with Polygon in 2023, OKX has achieved phased results in technical performance and ecological construction. In response to the continuous expansion of the decentralized world, OKX has decided to strategically upgrade X Layer, making it a leading public chain focused on DeFi, payments, and RWA scenarios. The core content and timetable of this upgrade are announced as follows: The specific implementation timetable is as follows: On August 13, 2025, at 2:10 PM (UTC+8), OKT will be delisted from the OKX exchange, while OKTChain will continue to produce blocks and process on-chain transactions normally. On August 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM (UTC+8), the OKX exchange will stop allowing withdrawals of OKB to ETH L1. On August 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8), the platform will automatically exchange the OKT in user accounts for OKB according to the rules. On August 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM (UTC+8), a one-time burn of X OKB will be executed, and a smart contract will be activated for on-chain destruction. On August 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM (UTC+8), the OKB Smart Contract will be upgraded to remove the functions of issuing and destroying tokens.
