Bitcoin's Market Dominance Slips Below 60% Indicating Potential Altcoin Season
Bitcoin's market dominance has fallen to the lowest level since January, sparking renewed anticipation for an altcoin season. This typically happens when Bitcoin's dominance drops to 50%. The decline has been ongoing since late June, coinciding with Ethereum's rise. Analysts suggest that if the trend continues, Bitcoin's dominance could potentially drop to 45% in the next six months, leading to a significant increase in altcoin values.
Despite this, CoinMarketCap's altcoin season index is currently at a low of 37 out of 100, suggesting that the season is not yet upon us. Meanwhile, altcoins like Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, and Litecoin have all seen impressive gains, taking the spotlight away from Bitcoin.
