Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund's Indirect Bitcoin Holdings Increased by 192% in the First Half of 2025

In the first half of 2025, the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund (Norges Bank Investment Management) increased its indirect holdings in Bitcoin by 192% compared to the same period last year, bringing its total holdings to 7,161 Bitcoins (approximately $844 million), a significant increase from 3,821 Bitcoins at the end of 2024.

This means the fund added 3,340 Bitcoins in just the first half of 2025.

These indirect holdings mainly come from the following investments:

MicroStrategy: +3,005.5 Bitcoins

Marathon Digital: +216.4 Bitcoins

Block: +85.1 Bitcoins

Coinbase: +57.2 Bitcoins

Metaplanet: +50.8 Bitcoins

As well as small investments from GameStop, Tesla, Mercado Libre, Jasmine, Virtu, and WeMade.
