📢 Urgent – Trump Attacks Powell and Demands Immediate Rate Cut
Former U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, calling him "always late," and demanded an immediate interest rate cut.
Trump said in a post on the Truth Social media platform:
"Jerome Powell must cut rates now, Steve Mnuchin presented this loser to me as a great deal, but the damage caused by his constant delays is incalculable."
Trump added that the strength of the U.S. economy has allowed the country to overcome what he described as "Powell's and the board's lax policies," explaining:
"Fortunately, the economy is so strong that we have surpassed Powell and the negligent board."
Trump also revealed that he is considering allowing a major lawsuit against Powell, accusing him of gross mismanagement in the construction project of the Federal Reserve buildings, stating:
"Three billion dollars on a project that should have been just a renovation costing fifty million dollars, this is unacceptable."
The Federal Reserve did not comment on Trump's statements, while Powell and the U.S. central bank had previously defended the renovation of two historic buildings in Washington, D.C., asserting that rising costs were due to logistical and technical factors during the implementation of the projects.
