What Is Bitlayer?
Bitlayer is a Bitcoin-native Layer-2 scaling solution built upon the innovative BitVM paradigm, aiming to combine Bitcoin-level security with smart contract functionality.
Key Features:#BitlayerCommunity
BitVM Bridge: A trust-minimized bridge enabling Bitcoin to interact with DeFi ecosystems. #Bitlayercontent
Turing-complete Programmability: Supports advanced decentralized applications (dApps), bringing Ethereum-like flexibility (EVM compatibility) to Bitcoin.
Rollup Architecture (V2): Uses rollup technology to batch transactions and anchor them to Bitcoin’s base layer for security, increasing throughput and reducing costs.
Dual-Finality Model:
Soft Finality: Nearly instant confirmations from the PoS layer.
Hard Finality: Ultimate security once settled on Bitcoin’s chain.
Scalable Infrastructure: Built on AWS for high performance. As of launch, it supported over $550 million in total value locked (TVL) and 150,000+ daily transactions.
Rapid Ecosystem Growth: Backed by major investors like Polychain, Franklin Templeton, OKX Ventures and more; forming integrations with Base, Arbitrum, Starknet, Sonic, and Plume via the BitVM Bridge.
Token and Fundraising: The native token is BTR, with a public sale held on CoinList in July–August 2025, raising ~$6 million. The fully diluted valuation (FDV) is around $200M–$300M.

How It Works
1. Layer Architecture: Bitlayer operates with a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) layer for fast transaction processing, and periodically settles state to Bitcoin’s chain via a rollup.
2. Bridging and Interoperability: Its BitVM Bridge allows secure, trust-minimized Bitcoin transfers to other networks.
3. Developer-Friendly: EVM compatibility means Ethereum developers can deploy Solidity-based dApps seamlessly.
4. Future Roadmap:
V1 (Mainnet) launched in April 2024 with PoS architecture, EVM, and bridges.
V2 (2025) introduces rollup anchoring and enhanced trust-minimized bridging.
V3 (late 2025) targets “supercharged rollup” performance with ~20,000 TPS and near-instant confirmations.
