🚀 The project that could replace Ethereum $ETH in 5 years

Saying "replace Ethereum" sounds exaggerated, but the reality is that another network or layer could take most of the activity (DeFi, NFTs, dApps), leaving Ethereum as a settlement layer.

📌 My most realistic bet: Rollups (Arbitrum, Optimism, and zk-rollups).

Why?

• Security of $ETH Ethereum but with much lower costs.

• EVM compatibility, making it easier for developers to migrate without rewriting everything.

• Greater speed and scalability, solving Ethereum's biggest problem: fees.

• Ecosystem and tools already functioning, which accelerates adoption.

⚠️ Risks:

• Lack of decentralization in some cases.

• Fierce competition from zk-rollups and fast L1s like Solana or Aptos.

💡 My conclusion: in 5 years, a large part of Ethereum's traffic could move to rollups or fast L1s, but $ETH will remain key as the "central bank" of the blockchain.
