BounceBit lets users restake their $BTC to secure external networks (rollups, oracles and the such) and earn rewards. This move not only utilizes Bitcoins, but also creates safer blockchain networks.
There is around $16 to $24 billion TVL in Ethereum restaking ecosystem (including EigenLayer, ether.fi, Kelp and Renzo), and BounceBit is trying to compete using Bitcoin restaking.
There are several projects trying to grab the pie of BTC Restaking, but BB has several advantages.

Partnered custodians can manage BTC collateral offline, while on-chain smart contracts automate reward distribution- balancing institutional trust requirement with DeFi's permissionless access.
When it CeDeFi model attract enough attention and liquidity from BTC, BB will reach the moon for sure. But it can't be in a day or 2.
