FBI Reports Say Senator Adam Schiff Told Staff to Leak Secret Info About Trump
Newly released FBI interview notes, sent to Congress this week, claim that Adam Schiff—who was a Representative in 2017 and is now a Senator—told his staff to leak secret government information to hurt President Donald Trump.
These notes, called “302s,” were shared by FBI Director Kash Patel. They include statements from a longtime Democratic staff member on the House Intelligence Committee who first spoke to the FBI in 2017.
According to this whistleblower, Schiff held a meeting in February 2017 and told staff to leak damaging information about Trump. Schiff reportedly said the leaks could help lead to criminal charges. The whistleblower said he believed this was illegal and even called it “treasonous.” But other staff members told him Congress would be protected by the Constitution if the leaks were found out.
📅 FBI agents spoke with the whistleblower at least six times between 2017 and 2023. The reports also mention Representative Eric Swalwell as someone who may have helped spread the leaked information. The whistleblower was later fired for refusing to take part in the plan. The Justice Department didn’t open a case, saying members of Congress are mostly protected from legal action for what they do in office.
These documents are putting more pressure on Schiff, who was recently referred to the Justice Department over a separate mortgage fraud issue. Schiff’s office hasn’t responded to the new claims. Legal experts say most of the alleged actions happened too long ago to be prosecuted, but Congress may still investigate whether secret intelligence was misused for political reasons during the Russia investigation.
