Binance is one of the largest and most popular cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. Therefore, if you're looking to get started with cryptocurrencies, this exchange is the best option for you in terms of security, high liquidity, and low transaction fees.

However, before you buy your first cryptocurrencies, the first step is to set up an account and verify it (KYC – Know Your Customer).

In this guide, I will show you exactly how to register on the Binance exchange and complete identity verification step by step - from creating an account, through selecting documents, to successfully approving and activating your account.

Why does Binance require KYC verification?

Identity verification is mandatory for the platform to comply with regulatory requirements related to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT).

Binance KYC gives you:

  • Possibility of deposits and withdrawals in PLN and other fiat currencies.

  • Higher transaction limits and no account restrictions.

  • Access to the full trading offer (Spot, Futures (in some regions), P2P).

How to create a Binance account – step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Visit the official Binance website

  • Below you have an additional option to select registration as an entity (select if you run your own business and want to set up a business account).

Step 2: Create an account

  • Enter your email address or phone number as your registration method.

  • Set a strong password (min. 8 characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, at least one number).

  • Confirm your email or phone number by entering the verification code.

Step 3: Start verification

Binance offers several levels of KYC:

  • Verified (Basic) – ID and selfie verification, withdrawal limit up to EUR 8 million per day.

  • Verified Plus – additional address verification, higher limits and more services.

At this point, you go through the basic verification process, in which you must select your country of residence and indicate that you accept the terms and conditions and that the account you are creating is created directly for you.

Step 5: Provide your personal details

  • Name and surname (identical to those on your document).

  • Date of birth.

  • Nationality.

  • Do you have any other citizenship? (Yes/No)

Step 6: Select the document to be verified

You can use:

  • ID card,

  • Passport,

  • Residence permits

  • Driving licenses (in some countries).

Tip: To make the entire verification process easier, select the "Continue on your phone" button, this way you will be able to complete all the next steps much easier (taking a photo of your documents and your face)

Step 7: Take photos of the document

  • Take clear photos of the front and back of your document (or the photo page in the case of a passport).

  • Avoid glare and image blur.

  • The document should be fully visible in the photo.

Step 8: Take a selfie

  • Binance will ask you to take a selfie in real time.

  • Follow the instructions (sometimes you need to move your head or look in a certain direction).

  • If you wear glasses, take them off when taking a selfie.

Step 9: Wait for approval

  • Verification takes from a few minutes to a maximum of 24 hours.

  • In case of an error, you will receive an email asking you to resubmit your documents.

  • If everything has been done correctly, you will receive an email notification after a while.

The most common errors during KYC verification

  1. Blurry photos – always take them in good light.

  2. Data discrepancy – must be identical to the document.

  3. Using a VPN – may result in verification being rejected.

  4. Face or head covering – selfie must be fully legible.
