There’s a new episode in this magical drama in the cryptocurrency world! Do you remember the TST token that accidentally debuted because of a tutorial video earlier this year?
This morning (August 11), monitoring showed that the developer address of TST quietly sold this token worth over $30,000.
Currently, TST's total market value is about twenty million dollars, but it has also dropped nearly 4% in the last 24 hours.
Looking back at this blunder:
In February of this year, CZ posted with a mix of laughter and tears explaining: Their BNB Chain team made a video tutorial on issuing tokens, casually using 'TST' as an example.
As a result, a frame in the video accidentally revealed the token name, which was seized upon by some domestic KOLs as a 'potential stock' and was heavily promoted and speculated! A purely educational 'prop' had its market value instantly pushed to nearly $500,000!
CZ's reaction at the time can be described as 'a scene of bewildering behavior awards':
1. Urgent delisting: The team deleted the video immediately after discovering it.
2. Completely 'destroy the prop': Even more extreme, they directly deleted the private key of the wallet that created TST in the video! This is equivalent to destroying the only mold used to create this 'prop' on the spot, and no one can touch that 0.13% initial share (the team emphasized that no one holds it, including Binance).
3. CZ quickly spoke up: This TST is not a legitimate project at all, it is purely a background prop in the tutorial! It was not issued by the BNB Chain, nor is anyone endorsing it! In the end, he can only helplessly wish everyone 'happy trading'.
But unexpectedly, the 'test currency' that the CZ team wanted to disappear at the time has surprisingly survived to this day, with a market value still maintaining over twenty million. This morning, when the developer sold it, although the amount wasn't large, it happened against the backdrop of CZ's already 'destroyed keys and determination', making the situation a bit complicated.
Small takeaway:
The cryptocurrency circle truly is 'where there is faith, there is wealth'. A screenshot of a tutorial created unintentionally can be traded for real money. The CZ team's 'survival instinct' of deleting videos and destroying private keys cannot stop the internet's memory and the market's madness.
