His name is Rachael, and He'd lost over $100,000 in the crypto space since 2021. The most recent, and most painful, loss was with a project called TOMI. He iz writing this to share his story so that others might avoid the same fate.
In 2021, he experienced a significant loss of over $100,000. It was devastating, but he held onto the hope that crypto was still a place for genuine innovation and community-building. he took some time to heal, but the lure of a new, promising project brought him back in 2023. That project was TOMI.
he was excited by what he saw on paper. The project was presented as a decentralized internet solution, a Web3 dream. The founders—Abraham Piha, Moshe Hegge, and Hirokado Kohji—were promoted as visionary leaders. he saw the price soar from under $0.05 all the way to nearly $4, and it seemed like a true moonshot. his initial investment in TOMI was $10,000. It was a significant amount for him, but he believed in the project and its potential. he saw it as a chance to recoup his earlier losses and build a brighter future.
But as a wise man once said, history repeats itself, first as a tragedy, then as a farce. What he saw as a groundbreaking project began to show what he now believe to be the same red flags from his previous experience. The price began to fall, and it fell fast. his $10,000 investment plummeted, and today it is worth less than a single dollar.
This is a familiar story to many in crypto, but it's the pattern that is the most disturbing. I've heard others mention these names in connection with other projects and other losses. When I look back, I see a clear strategy: build hype, attract community funds, and then, as I believe happened with TOMI, pull the rug out from under the very people who believed in them.
