Have you ever seen online trading ad promising "high and quick profits"? Well, it turns out those promises are often too good to be true. Dubai Police just busted a massive scam, and the details are wild. A syndicate of four people allegedly defrauded hundreds of people, using phone calls and social media to lure them in with fake brands like Sigma-One Capital and UTrade. They would get victims to transfer money, then move it all to accounts outside the UAE. The craziest part? One of the scam companies, Sigma-One Capital, was already known for disappearing with millions of dirhams from investors. It all goes to show that if a trading opportunity seems too good to be true, it probably is.
