Tron Surpasses Ethereum in USDT Market Share as Network Activity Reaches New Highs
According to a CryptoQuant report, Tron (TRX) — an EVM-compatible, low-cost Layer-1 blockchain — recorded exceptional growth across all on-chain metrics in the first half of 2025.
• Transaction Growth: Daily transfer value rose 67% year-over-year. In May 2025, the network handled 273 million transactions across 28.7 million addresses — its busiest period since 2023 — averaging over 10 transactions per wallet.
• Record Fees: June 2025 saw an all-time high of $308 million in transaction fees, while keeping the average cost at just $1.18.
• TRX Surge: More than 20 billion TRX (≈$5.4 billion) moved on-chain in June, up 61% from the previous year. TRX’s price climbed from $0.25 to $0.33, gaining 33% in 2025.
• USDT Dominance: With 80.8 billion USDT issued, Tron has overtaken Ethereum’s 73 billion. In H1 2025, $21 billion in USDT flowed into the network, and on June 26 alone, Tron processed $24.6 billion in USDT transfers — 2.7 times Ethereum’s daily volume.
By pairing minimal fees with high throughput and strong stablecoin adoption, Tron is solidifying its role as a top blockchain for payments and value transfers.
