🚨 I’m Selling My ETH Bag: Why This Bull Run Has Me More Scared Than Excited
M$SOL
Most people will call me a fool for selling into strength. They'll say I’m crazy for leaving potential gains on the table. But I’ve seen this movie before, and I know how it ends. This isn't FUD; it's a playbook based on history.
The Euphoria Is Getting Loud
I’m seeing a setup that feels eerily familiar to the last two cycles:
* ETH has blown past $4,000. The momentum is undeniable.
* Altseason is in full swing. Every small-cap coin is pumping.
* Retail investors are jumping in. Everyone from your Uber driver to your grandmother is talking crypto.
* Greed is at an all-time high. Social media is flooded with influencers predicting 100x gains and a future of endless green candles.
* Institutional FOMO is peaking. The news is full of ETF hype and big banks embracing the space.
This is the euphoria phase. It’s when the party is at its loudest, and everyone thinks it will never end. This is also when the smart money quietly leaves through the back door.
The Lessons from 2017 and 2021
If you didn’t live through the last two cycles, here’s a quick history lesson:
* 2017: Bitcoin peaked in December. Ethereum and other alts had a massive, final blow-off top in January 2018. Then, a brutal bear market followed, wiping out over 90% of value for many coins. Those who didn’t take profits got absolutely wrecked.
* 2021: Ethereum peaked in November. The bear market began its slow, painful descent in early 2022. HODLers held on for dear life, waiting for a rebound that never came. The result? Another 80%+ draw down that lasted well over a year.
My Strategy: Taking Profits Before the Crash
Based on these historical patterns, my plan is simple and disciplined:
* I’m exiting a significant portion of my ETH bag. I’m taking profits off the table and converting them into stablecoins.
* I'm aiming for an October exit. History shows that market tops often occur in Q4, and the smart money doesn't wait for the absolute peak. They get out a little early.
* I’m prepared to miss the final pump. I understand that ETH could hit $5.5K or even $7K, and alts could go even higher. But I’d rather miss the last 20% of the pump than lose 80% in the dump that follows.
* I will buy back later. The real opportunity isn't in riding the final wave; it's in buying back into a depressed market when everyone else has given up.
This isn’t about being fearful; it’s about being strategic. The goal is to preserve gains and prepare for the next cycle. Don't become someone's exit liquidity. Take profits on the way up, and you’ll have the cash to buy back during the inevitable crash.
